Ok, ok, we are back in action. My computer is working (so far) and the outboard is working. They both come with impeccable timing with Bronco leaving. We had a lot of fun having him here and it was sad to see him go. I can already tell how much he helped out and gelled with the boat and us. After three weeks we three became a well oiled crew, pulling anchor, rowing everywhere and hunting food. I will now have to find an adequate hunting partner, late night island adventure buddy and music DJ. Bronco is definitely a vagabond.
Now that we have gone through the Exumas it is safe to say that they are simply amazing. The water can not possibly get any clearer and the islands somehow got more beautiful as we went.
Laurel and I have been in Georgetown for over a week now. The weather the last few days has kept us holed up in a secluded anchorage. The anchorage contains 4 boats, two of them have nude hermits living aboard. Anyways, it rained like an angry banshee and blew like a tropical storm for 2 days. Our water tanks were dry so we took the opportunity to collect rainwater and top the tanks off. I also finally, finally got the outboard working. It runs a little rough but it still beats rowing.
Georgetown is a nice stop if you need to see people and reprovision. I think a few days would have been better for us but the weather didn’t seem to think so. We have changed anchorages several times trying to avoid the wind. Today is again nice out with a brisk SE wind. We are doing laundry, getting drinking water and taking trash out. Also, we just ate some conch burgers while I try to delete spam comments and update the blog with photos. Tomorrow we are going to head over to Long Island for the Regatta on the 6th. It is three days of racing and festivities.
