Eleuthera to Abacos

We left the Exumas over a week ago and headed over to Eleuthera. The crossing was nice and mostly downwind. We have had absolutely no luck with the allusive tuna. One day tuna, one day. Cruising back through Eleuthera was just as pretty as the first time we were there. I don’t think we ran the engine for more than 5 minutes that entire  time. So some highlights: Laurel and I had our 2 year wedding anniversary in Rock Sound, watched the worst movie ever, Temptation, in Governors Harbor, explored Spanish Wells and caught yet another Mutton Snapper. We kinda zipped through Eleuthera to get to the Abacos. The crossing over was one of our longest, 60 miles. It was super easy and relaxing: no rough seas and light winds. We made it over and stayed in Little Harbour for the night. Little Harbour is a quaint settlement that has great protection from all directions. I think the sea turtles in the harbor out populate the residents. After Little Harbour we sailed to the Coral Garden off of Sandy Cay. On the way we did some snorkel towing and picked up a conch for dinner. Mmmm…. Laurel’s conch fritters are amazing. The next day we visited Tahiti Beach and read some books then went over to Cracker P’s for a refreshment. Now we are at Hope Town. Yesterday, we climbed the light house, biked to White Sound to check the waves, ate ice cream and listened to live music. We will stay another night here because of the protection it offers and then sail over to Man O War Cay in the morning. Also, we are still waiting to hear if Katelin and Anthony are coming. It’s going to be last minute but we will be ready for their arrival on the 3rd.
