I am still in disbelief, this is our boat. We are so excited and finally proud of “Passing Winds”. Taping off the boot stripe wasn’t too difficult with a little patience. It is helpful to have two people and to pull the tape out really far to get a nice fluid line. Some guy actually had some leftover navy blue Awlgrip that he gave us. It was just the right amount to get two coats down. We ended up selling our 1 gallon of leftover primer to him for a good price. The next day Laurel and I painted the bottom paint on with little excitement other than having millions of blue splatter freckles on us when we were done. It took a little over a gallon to fully cover the bottom and really was a appearance changer for the boat. Although the gallon said blue, after painting it on and stepping back it definitely looks more like a bluish black. Oh well, it is way better than red. Boat painted white, done! Boot stripe, done! Bottom painted, kaboom, done! Rub rail, uh, oh yeah, crap…
