Wow, this really isn’t boat related but it definitely was an adventure. A few weeks back my Macbook Pro crapped out. Meaning the screen showed small grey squares and had trouble starting. After tons of research and thinking I was going to have to buy another VERY expensive Mac, I found an article about someone else experiencing the exact issue. Not to get too nerdy, but my graphics card on my logic board had heated up so much the soldering connections cracked. The article said to remove your logic board, wrap it with aluminum foil and hold a heat gun 3-4 inches away for 5-7 minutes. Huh?! I know, bare with me. So I did. I had no other option (a replacement logic board was $500!).
After putting every
thing back together and turning it back out. DONG! (that’s the sound Macs make when starting up) The screen looked perfect and my Mac was back. This is where the 🙂 comes in. I guess the heat gun reflowed the soldering and fixed the issue. I am still a little in shock and hesitant to believe it is fixed. Now, we can get back to keeping up with our blog.
